Filmatch ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Filmatch mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

Data We Collect

• Account data: Email address and authentication credentials (managed via Supabase).
• Movie preferences: Genre preferences, streaming provider selections, and swipe history (likes, passes, and saves).
• Match data: Records of movies matched between paired users.
• Pair connections: Information about your pairing with another user via invite codes.

How We Use Your Data

We use your data solely to provide app functionality — matching you with movies, generating recommendations, maintaining your shared watchlist, and enabling the pairing feature. We do not use your data for any purpose beyond delivering the core Filmatch experience.

Third-Party Services

• Supabase: Authentication and database hosting.
• Apple: Payment processing for premium subscriptions via In-App Purchases.

We do not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking services. We do not sell, share, or rent your personal data to third parties.

Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you choose to stop using Filmatch, your data will remain until you request its deletion.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from within the app. When you delete your account:

• Your personal data (email, profile information) is permanently deleted.
• Non-personal records (anonymized swipes and match history) may be retained for analytics and service improvement purposes.

Children's Privacy

Filmatch is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
